Dimitris Zoumpakis

👋 Hey — I'm Dimitris

  • 🎂 Age: 20
  • 📍 Based in Nicosia, Cyprus
  • 🎓 BSc Computer Information Systems — classes end Dec 2026; graduation June 2027
  • 💼 ~2 years total IT support
  • 🧪 Building a homelab for networking & security
  • 📚 Studying CCNA & CompTIA Security+
  • 🎯 Focus: GRC & IAM → long‑term Solutions Architect
  • 🧰 Interests: cybersecurity, networking, tech recycling, TPM

I'm a tech‑driven problem solver with about two years in IT support, now building the skills, portfolio, and network to move into cybersecurity. My focus is on Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) or Identity & Access Management (IAM) as a smart entry point that plays to my strengths.

I started out at the European University Cyprus MIS department, where I quickly became the go‑to for escalations, lab setups, and hardware rollouts. That role taught me how to stay calm under pressure, juggle multiple technical priorities, and deliver solutions that actually work.

In 2025, I joined Cablenet, supporting broadband, TV, and telephony services. It's where I've been sharpening my networking fundamentals, getting hands‑on with real infrastructure, and working alongside network engineers to tackle complex issues.

GRC appeals to me because it combines technical understanding with frameworks, compliance, and risk reduction. IAM excites me for the deep dive into access control and identity security. Both paths build toward my long-term goal of solutions architecture, where I can mix technical depth with product and business strategy.

Right now, I'm finishing my BSc in Computer Information Systems while studying for the CCNA and CompTIA Security+. Outside of work and study, I'm developing a cybersecurity and networking homelab to turn theory into practice.
