About

I started taking systems apart in my father's workshop — engines, gearboxes, brakes. The systems changed; the method didn't. Diagnose, trace to root cause, fix within real constraints, and don't mistake the symptom for the fault.

Everything since has been the same job on harder systems. A retail floor fails through people rather than parts. A help desk is a hundred small faults a day with no time to guess at any of them. An ISP is other people's infrastructure breaking in real time. Enterprise .NET is all of that with a change-control process attached.

Networks and telecoms are what I trained in and where I started working — the software is the newer part. I'm going deeper into infrastructure and security on the engineering track — platform and security engineering now, architecture when the depth earns it.
